Hey everyone!
Just saw that St. George’s University has appointed Dr. Marios Loukas as the new President
He’s been a big part of SGU’s academic leadership already, and now he's taking the top role. Super exciting to see someone with a strong background in medicine and education stepping in to lead the university.
As a student, I think this is a great move. Hoping this brings more innovation and growth to our community
Thanks to SGU for sharing the news!

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my experience and study plan for USMLE Step 1. I passed with a solid score and thought it might be helpful for those starting their preparation. Here’s what worked for me: - Study Plan: I broke down the syllabus into weekly targets, focusing on one subject at a time.
- Resources: I primarily used First Aid, UWorld, and Pathoma.
- Daily Schedule: I studied 6-8 hours a day, leaving weekends for practice exams and review.
I hope this helps those of you preparing for Step 1!

How Important Is Accreditation and Recognition When Choosing a Medical School (Especi |

Hey everyone,
I’ve been doing a lot of research on Caribbean medical schools, and one thing that keeps coming up is accreditation and international recognition. I understand it's a crucial factor, but I’d love to hear from students, grads, or anyone in the know:
- Which accreditations should we absolutely look for?
- How does recognition impact residency placements in the U.S., Canada, or the UK?
- Are there schools that are technically accredited but still face issues with recognition abroad?
- Can you still practice in the U.S. if a school is not listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDMS)?
Let’s make this thread a go-to resource for prospective students trying to understand the real-world value of accreditation.
