IMG Match 2025: What Are Your Stats and Strategies?
Posted by: Zaria - 07-15-2025, 06:53 PM - Forum: Country-specific residency requirements - No Replies

For the 2025 Match, IMGs had a ~67–68% match rate. Most matched into Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics. To boost your chances, score well on USMLE exams, do U.S. clinical rotations, get strong LORs, apply widely, and prepare for SOAP as a backup.

USMLE Step 1 Prep: Which Resources Worked for You?
Posted by: Reef - 07-14-2025, 06:48 PM - Forum: Experiences from students who cleared USMLE - Replies (1)

What really helped me at TAU was that the curriculum is integrated with USMLE prep. We had early exposure to Kaplan resources and were encouraged to use Boards & Beyond and Pathoma for foundational subjects. I started Anki in year 2 and it kept everything fresh for long-term recall.

How do Caribbean MD programs align with US and international licensure requirements?
Posted by: Mirlande - 07-10-2025, 06:45 PM - Forum: Discuss accreditation and recognition - No Replies

Caribbean MD programs are structured to align closely with U.S. and international licensure standards.

Most schools adopt a U.S.-modeled curriculum, preparing students for exams like USMLE (for the U.S.), UKMLA (UK), and FMGE/NExT (India).
Accredited schools are listed in WDOMS, meeting ECFMG certification criteria for residency in the U.S.
Many also provide clinical rotations in the U.S. or affiliated hospitals, ensuring exposure to the same healthcare environment.
Graduates from recognized programs are eligible for residency placements and licensing in multiple countries, provided they pass the respective exams and meet local requirements.
