New President at SGU – Dr. Marios Loukas! - Camila - 07-03-2025
Hey everyone!
Just saw that St. George’s University has appointed Dr. Marios Loukas as the new President
He’s been a big part of SGU’s academic leadership already, and now he's taking the top role. Super exciting to see someone with a strong background in medicine and education stepping in to lead the university.
As a student, I think this is a great move. Hoping this brings more innovation and growth to our community

Congrats to SGU and especially Dr Loukas on the new appointment. From what I’ve read, Dr Loukas brings a very strong academic and research background; his long tenure at SGU and contributions to anatomy education and curriculum innovation already speak volumes.
As someone interested in Caribbean medical schools, I believe this leadership change could bring significant value, perhaps more focus on academic excellence, better curricula, and updated teaching methods. I’m hopeful it will benefit both students and future applicants.

Thanks for sharing the update! A leadership change like this can open new doors. Dr Loukas has a strong academic background, so I’m optimistic about SGU’s direction moving forward.
I’ve followed Dr Loukas’s work for a while, especially his contributions to curriculum development. Having him take on the President role feels like a strong step for SGU. Hoping this brings more quality improvements and opportunities for students.
